Harlan's AC Electric Drive Axle with an integrated 80V motor
ADVANTAGES:
1.
The Drive Axle has a differential for proper performances while turning
which improves the handling as well as tire wear.
2.
The AC Motor has a power curve similar to a diesel engine –288 ft-lb
(390Nm) with the 27 HP and 222 ft-lb (300Nm) with the 21.5 HP.
3.
The AC Motor will use at least 15% less energy (in some testing it was up
to 40% less) than the Series wound DC motor.
4.
The integrated axle uses wet disc brakes (metal discs immersed in ATF
fluid that press together to stop the tractor) for secondary braking. This type
of brake will typically last 5 times longer than the conventional brakes. In an
AC Electric tractor, the motor is 95% of the braking.
